Speaker
Edward Escobar, Founder Citizens Unite and Community Engagement
Topic: Accountable Governance or … You’re Fired!
Edward Escobar, is the founder of the Coalition for Community Engagement and Citizens Unite, movements dedicated to promoting accountability, transparency, community empowerment, greater public safety, and responsible governance. With his associates Chris Moore, Campaign Manager, Save Alameda County for Everyone (SAFE), Tuan Ngo, founder of Asians Unite, and Seneca Scott, founder of Neighbors Together Oakland (NTO), they are leading a grassroots movement for transformative leadership in Oakland, Alameda County, and beyond.
They have achieved historic milestones, including the successful recall of Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and Alameda County DA Pamela Price, with a remarkable 60% supermajority of voters supporting the recalls. These landmark actions are the first of their kind in Oakland and Alameda County's history, marking a transformative shift in how that community holds elected officials accountable.
By disrupting the status quo and breaking the grip of ultra-extreme radical progressives in California, particularly in Oakland, where movements like "Defund the Police" and Black Lives Matter originated, their efforts have paved the way for a more balanced and accountable approach to governance.
Actively supporting candidates in the upcoming 2025 Oakland mayoral special election, scheduled for April 15, 2025, and a council member position, will help citizens advocate for accountable leadership and public safety in Oakland.
Beyond Alameda County, these leaders have been asked to support other efforts including the recall of Governor Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, City of Fairfax Mayor & Vice-Mayor, State Sen. Aisha Wahab, Contra Costa D.A., and more! Let’s learn how we can participate in this evolution.
